Some Random Shots From Day 1 in Las Vegas

Had a long day today. Departed Petaluma in a steady drizzle at 6:30 for the 604 mile drive to Las Vegas. Made a few stops on the way for gas and food, and finally pulled into the parking lot at The Flamingo at 4:00 pm. Pretty much what I thought would happen, and there were no surprises along the way.

We did have one high roller moment. When we finally made it to The Flamingo we found a huge line waiting for check-in. It was going to be a 30-45 minute process. However, next to the main check-in is the VIP room, and a guy from the hotel was holding up a photo of the Total Rewards Card, the players club card for Flamingo. We have one and when we showed it to him, he immediately opened up the rope line and led us to the VIP room. We were checked in about two minutes later. It pays to know somebody.

We did a little sightseeing and shopping, per usual, and now it's time to crash for awhile.
