A Republican lawmaker with a mission to save Christmas is aiming his latest salvo at President and first lady Obama, who've followed in a recent tradition to eliminate the mention of Christmas in the White House holiday cards.I'm as big a fan of Christmas as anyone, but our family Christmas card this year says "Season's Greetings" because that was the card that best fit the photos we wanted to use. I just can't get upset because the White House card doesn't say "Merry Christmas".
The card selected by the Obamas announces: "Season's Greetings." Inside, it reads: "May your family have a joyous holiday season and a new year blessed with hope and happiness."
But Rep. Henry Brown, R-S.C., said abandoning Christmas at Christmas is just plain wrong. On Tuesday, he introduced a resolution calling for the protection of the sanctity of Christmas. So far, 44 lawmakers, Democrat and Republican, have co-signed the bill.
"I believe that sending a Christmas card without referencing a holiday and its purpose limits the Christmas celebration in favor of a more 'politically correct' holiday," Brown told Fox News Radio on Thursday.
"This kind of reproach is exactly what my Christmas resolution, introduced to the House of Representatives earlier this week, is against as the resolution expresses support for the use of Christmas symbols and traditions and disapproval of all attempts to ban or limit references to Christmas," he added.

Christmas Silliness
There are plenty of things to get upset with Obama about, but this isn't one of them:

I imagine that this congressman will blame to downing by wind of the Christmas Tree on top of the Tennessee State Capitol on Obama.

Shame on you. It is not about a "holiday". And your mother (who I know)would agree with me. Once a year we celebrate Our Savior's birth and you want to ignore it in your mailings? Jo Schroeder
There's no shame on me. The card says Seasons Greetings but the message we added to the card says Merry Christmas. We've got it covered, but I still think it's much ado about nothing.
Jo, you said it well. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ and nothing else. Unfortunately, it has turned into a Money maker for business concerns and people now call it whatever they want, also a lot of the younger generation don't believe in Jesus Christ and take exception to it having anything to do with a Religous holiday.
