Even Though Our Guy is President It's Still Bush's Fault

Talking Points Memo gives us a preview of the Democrat campaign plans for 2010 with this headline:

2010 Campaign Preview: Democrats To Say GOP Still Party Of Bush

Oh brother. Who came up with that? Do they really want to remind America that Obama is not George Bush? I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't a satire piece.

Bush's approval rating has now gone back up to 44%, just a few points below Obama. While the most ardent Democrats may still hate Bush a lot of other folks are rethinking their feelings of the 43rd president.

Voters will know that it wasn't Bush that tried to take over 1/6th of the economy through Obamacare. It wasn't Bush that tried to raise the cost of everything we do through cap-and-tax. It wasn't Bush that tried to pass 2,000 page massive tax hikes and government takeovers without anyone but a select few being able to read the legislation.

This is a very bad tactical error on the part of the Democrats.

In other words, it's perfect.
