Angels Announcer Rory Markas Dead at 54

This is kind of shocking:
Sports broadcaster Rory Markas has died of a possible heart attack at the age of 54.

Los Angeles Angels team spokesman Tim Mead says the longtime voice of the Angels and Southern California basketball was found dead at his home in Palmdale on Monday.

Markas, born in Chatsworth, had been with the Angels for seven seasons. He had also been a sports reporter for KNX Radio and a sports anchor KTTV.

From 1994-97, he was the lead announcer for the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers on the Clippers radio network.

Markas also worked as a freelance reporter for KTLA's morning news.
He was pretty good. Had a great voice for sports broadcasting.
