Citizen's United Explained

Steve Chapman offers a very concise and correct explanation of what the Citizen's United campaign finance case ruling will mean in the real world:

“Under this ruling, corporations will be allowed to speak about politics, just as they may speak about their products. In both realms, though, the effort is wasted unless they offer something their audience wants. The marketplace of ideas is not so different from the marketplace of goods.”

Exactly. A free people have nothing to fear from increased political speech (other than the risk of boredom). People who want to control your lives and keep you from knowing as much as possible are the only ones who need fear.
