Great Moments in Homeland Security

Michael Yon is a free-lance journalist who travels the world reporting from some of the hottest of spots. His reports and photos from Iraq and Afghanistan have been simply amazing.

While he has escaped from many of the world's problem children, he almost didn't escape from...the TSA at SeaTac Airport. Here's a couple of items he reported on Facebook:
Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not "arrested", but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eventually came -- they were professionals -- and rescued me from the border bullies.

When they handcuffed me, I said that no country has ever treated me so badly. Not China. Not Vietnam. Not Afghanistan. Definitely not Singapore or India or Nepal or Germany, not Brunei, not Indonesia, or Malaysia, or Kuwait or Qatar or United Arab Emirates. No county has treated me with the disrespect can that can be expected from our border bullies.
To paraphrase the president after the Cambridge, MA incident, the "TSA acted stupidly". How much money Michael Yon makes is irrelevant to whether he should be allowed on an airplane or not. He was correct not to answer the questions, though it probably made his day a bit more hectic.

The agents were stupid to even ask such a question. It is none of their business how much money anyone makes. I applaud the passenger for having the guts to refuse to divulge this information to them.
