The Mount Vernon Statement

It was signed today at the former home of George Washington by a lot of luminaries in the conservative movement. Read it here and sign if you wish.

From what I read it appears to concentrate more on the small government issues than on the social issues, which is probably the right way to go. And I noticed that some of those who concentrate more on social issues, like the Family Research Council, signed on. That's probably a good thing.

This statement is an effort to return our government to the type of government envisioned by the nation's founders in the Constitution, and there's nothing wrong with that.
