A Suggestion for the RNC

The Republican National Committee is finalizing their choice for the 2012 Republican Convention city:
The Republican National Committee has narrowed its list of potential cities to host the 2012 Republican National Convention down to three final contenders.

National Republican insiders with knowledge of the process say the cities under consideration are Tampa, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

The GOP convention will come first in 2012 (the out-of-power party always has their convention first) and that means the convention will be sometime in August of 2012. Does anyone really want to be in Phoenix in August? It'll probably be 115 every day.

And August is the middle of the Atlantic hurricane season. The last GOP convention was interrupted because of a hurricane that looked like it was going to hit New Orleans, but they only lost one night of activities. If the convention is in Tampa they could literally lose the whole thing if a storm hit at the wrong moment.

Let's go with Salt Lake City...for weather reasons, not because Mitt Romney is "next" in GOP circles.
