Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman had some harsh words for President Obama Tuesday. Here’s what he had to say hours after the President remarked that people who are trying to save money shouldn’t go to Vegas.Goodman knows some tough people who'd make those Chicago friends of Obama look like pansies. Obama's visit to Vegas to stump for Harry Reid should be interesting.
“I guess you’ve all seen the president’s remarks or read about the president’s remarks, well I’ve got some remarks of my own. I was back in Washington, D.C. about two weeks ago, going up and down the halls of the capitol telling people about our economy here, trying to get them to be sympathetic to what we’re trying to accomplish, then I have to read what President Obama said.
“He has a real psychological hang up about the entertainment capitol of the world. An apology won’t be acceptable this time, I don’t know where his vendetta comes from but we’re not going to let him make his bones by lambasting Las Vegas, that’s why (the press) is here today.
“He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.
“I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.”
Las Vegas Now reported:In a statement issued by Governor Gibbons he said he was stunned that President Obama was so thoughtless and heartless with his recent remarks about Las Vegas. Governor Gibbons said,“Doesn’t President Obama know that thousands of families in Las Vegas are suffering because of his failed economic policies?”
Governor also said that “His comments are disgraceful and he should immediately apologize to the working families of Las Vegas.” Governor Gibbons plans to write a letter to President Obama asking him to temper his comments about Las Vegas.
US Representative Dean Heller (R-NV) was also upset with the president’s irresponsible comments.
Lahontan reported:“This is not the first time the President has found Las Vegas to be a convenient political punch-line. At the same time the President tells people not to come to Las Vegas, he has no problems coming to our state to raise money.
“Getting our tourism industry up and running should be a priority for the President. Nevada has one of the most distressed economies in the country and the President has done little to focus on job creation over the past year. Discouraging people from coming to our state to make a political point adds insult to injury.”
What Obama said is technically correct, but the fact that he's twice told people not to go to Vegas is not playing well in a state that's going through tough times like they haven't seen for decades.

Yes, quite true; Las Vegas isn't the place to go if you're trying to save money.
But, Dang! Weren't we all TOLD that the Won is such an outstanding speaker, so eloquent, so suave?
Not trusting the lap dog media no more, no more.
Personally I don't think it's the presidents place to tell anyone where to go or where not to go. If he would spend more time tending to business in Washington maybe he could get a few good things accomplished, but so far he hasn't had anything good to offer the citizens of the U.S.A. I think he is in over his head.
