Russ Carnahan Vows Not to Be Intimidated by People Praying For Him

The other day the media went crazy over the story that a coffin had been left on Congressman Russ Carnahan's (D-MO) front lawn. Of course, the media immediately assumed upon hearing that news that it was some sort of death threat.

However, once the story hit the media Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit proved that the story's central theme - the death threat - was quite wrong. Hoft had led a prayer service at Carnahan's home in which a coffin was used to represent the lives of the unborn that would be lost thanks to Obamacare. During the service the folks gathered there prayed not only for those unborn children, but for Carnahan himself.

Now it's been revealed by Josie Wales at Pajamas Media that Carnahan has sent out a fundraising email misreporting what happened that night:
An email arrived in my inbox this afternoon from Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s baby-brother, Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-Missouri). In this email, Carnahan pledges to not be intimidated by Coffingate, and then asks me for money. This email may be the most despicable yet of the campaign season. After a brutal 48 hours of press retractions about an incident regarding a coffin placed near his house, Carnahan is attempting to hustle money for intimidation that did not occur.
Carnahan was in big trouble before this latest outrage. One of the most active Tea Party organizations in the country is in St. Louis and I can guarantee you they'll be all over him until he's ousted in November.
