Stupak: Democrats Want More Abortions to Cut Costs

Rep. Bart Stupak, holding out against abortion funding in the Obamacare bill, is very discouraged about what he's hearing from his fellow party members:
What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”
Read the whole conversation with Stupak. He's afraid a number of other pro-life Democrats will fold and vote for Obamacare. He says he's a firm "no".

Did he really say that?! I have been saying all along this is about killing. Could they really be this awful, though? How did the country reach this stage?

I have two friends with "pre-existing conditions" to the nth degree: one has early stage MS, the other has a rare muscle wasting disease. Both are Dems and I suspect fully believe that Obama just wants to help them.

They might see some benefit from a "national health care" program at first (America will still have the same doctors). But what happens down the road? What happens when the government "needs to cut costs"? What happens to the culture of the medical establishment over time as "government medicine" becomes the norm?

Do people really think that the same folks who are perfectly okay with killing somebody else's baby is going to care about them?

It's so sad. Obama is not fooling us, but he is fooling some people -- the ones who still believe him, who trust him. What a poor bunch of unlucky saps, them and us with them, if this thing passes.

You know what? He is right! There probably will be more babies born. There will be more children going to school, so there will be a need for more teachers and bus drivers. There will be more teenagers looking for work, they will find it. They will start paying their taxes and paying in to SS.

Some of these precious lives, and hopefully, a great majority will go on to find the cures to the diseases we have. Maybe MS will be cured. Maybe cancer.

The economy can only grow as we have more people that contribute, and that have the opportunity to start businesses.

Capitalism at its' best!

The bastards are in Congress, not in wombs. However, if those bastards in Congress are going to advocate abortion on cost of health care grounds, then we must advocate choosing life not only on moral grounds but also on the grounds that more children means more workers paying into the retirement and health care systems. That would point out the illogic of their economic argument.
