Boobs in the News

No, not Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, but something that is sure to become part of Obamacare (h/t Don Surber):
The lives of nearly 900 babies would be saved each year, along with billions of dollars, if 90 percent of U.S. women breast-fed their babies for the first six months of life, a cost analysis says.

Those startling results, published online Monday in the journal Pediatrics, are only an estimate. But several experts who reviewed the analysis said the methods and conclusions seem sound.

“The health care system has got to be aware that breast-feeding makes a profound difference,” said Dr. Ruth Lawrence, who heads the American Academy of Pediatrics’ breast-feeding section.

The findings suggest that there are hundreds of deaths and many more costly illnesses each year from health problems that breast-feeding may help prevent. These include stomach viruses, ear infections, asthma, juvenile diabetes, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and even childhood leukemia.
Just watch, at some point in a future "fix" bill for Obamacare breast feeding will become a requirement, not an option. With so much money at stake it will be the duty of every mom to nurse her kids, and employers will be required to provide both a time and place for nursing to occur.

It's gonna happen.

LACTATION ROOMS are already required in any California state owned facility or building to which female employees are assigned. It must be a private room without windows, separate from toilet facilities, and must have a comfortable couch or sofa. The room cannot be used for any other purpose such as storage or private meetings. There are some other requirements also. I'm sure it will soon apply to private employers too!

I'm afraid I have to respectfully disagree with your conclusion. Breast Feeding is not comfortable for a lot of women. If the position of Mr. Obama/Ms. Pelosi on abortion is any indicator, the comfort of the mother is more important than the life of a baby.

I mean ... Mr. Obama thought his own daughters should be able to get an abortion to not have to deal with a mistake, certainly he wouldn't want them to be forced to breast feed.

But Stephen,
Whatever he deems necessary for us lowly minions, won't be necessary for those in the 'high' positions. What is good for the goose isn't good for the gander in this administration.

Hmmm.... 900 babies would be saved each year if mothers breast-fed them? How many babies would be saved each year if they weren't aborted? The left isn't concerned with saving babies.. the left is only concerned with total control over the rest of us...
