A California university president says a contract between a school foundation and Sarah Palin for an upcoming speech was stolen from a campus administrator's office last week. This has all the hallmarks of an inside job by some administrator who was mad about the Palin appearance and decided to concoct a scheme to get the paperwork to some activist students.
California State University, Stanislaus president Hamid Shirvani said Wednesday the five-page document was taken from a recycling bin inside the office of a vice president.
He has asked police in the Central Valley city of Turlock to investigate the matter.
Several CSU Stanislaus students said Tuesday they had recovered the contract for Palin's June speech from a campus trash bin.
The state attorney general's office is investigating the CSU Stanislaus Foundation's handling of the contract.

Palin's Contract Stolen from Cal State Administration Office
I thought the story about the kids just happening to find the contract in a campus trash bin was more fairy tale than truth:

Whatever it takes to shine a little light on things like that. As a resident of California I want to know about people using public property for political fundraising. At $500 a ticket, this was not for students, and the pre-screening of the questions suggests that her role is to read things but not to respond to anyone or display any learning of her own.
No one would be infringing on Sara Palin's freedom of speech by not paying to speak. Freedom from her speech would be a blessing for everyone else.
Thanks for playing the stereotype game, Repack. Looks like you could use a little reading too and then maybe you'd know how to spell Sarah's name, not to mention learning something about her knowledge and experience.
As far as "whatever it takes", I guess when someone steals information from you, as long as it's for some mysterious higher purpose, everything will be okay.
Re.: Repack Rider, just one more loose cannon on the wrong website so consider the source.
I thought Dumpster diving was more like their game.
I would have guessed that they were bright enough to have stolen it.
Too many Larry's--I keep meeting myself in the hall here.
But ol' Repeat ism a loose cannon among many, for sure.
Wonder what it is that frightens them.....no it isn't--it is clear as day.
I'd sure like to have the diaper service concession there.
"loose lips" used to be the problem.
Now "loosing words" is.
I would NOT have guessed that they were bright enough to have stolen it.
I doubt the document in question was 'stolen', misappropriated more likely. It baffles me why people would try to muzzle Ms Palin when that serves only to enhance her popularity and influence.
