In light of recent threats made to Members of Congress, their families, and staff in the wake of the health care vote, U.S. Congressman John Boccieri (D-OH) issued the following statement:I hate it when people say violence will never solve problems. In fact, violence has often solved problems. Violence solve Naziism in Germany and Fascism in Italy, as well as stopping the Japanese empire from ravaging Asia. The threat of violence eventually drove the Soviet union into a complete breakup. You don't stop bank robbers with kind words and compassionate dialogue - you stop them with guns and bullets.
“Having flown missions in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan, I know what it’s like to be in harm’s way. But I never imagined serving in Congress could feel the same. While Members of Congress, including myself, experience threats against our lives, our families, and our staff in the wake of the historic health care vote, I am calling on our leaders to be responsible with their remarks, especially those with a national microphone.
“We need to have a respectful conversation about contemporary issues, however once that discussion crosses into incendiary and dangerous remarks, it is time for Members of Congress to speak up.
“As passions run deep, violence will never solve our problems. I demand responsible leadership on both sides of the aisle because progress should not cower to the politics of fear.”
I'm not advocating violence against members of Congress, but it doesn't hurt that they realize there's a very angry electorate out here in real America. Perhaps next time they'll think about that before they cast a vote that spits in the face of the voters. If you make yourself an enemy of the people there's going to be a price to pay.

Unfortunately a number of those in congress have as it were painted a target on themselves. They have totally disregarded the people whom they are to REPRESENT in the halls of congress. It doesn't take to high of an IQ to realize if you try to force your opinions as a leader on the people where a majority of them are against your opinion you will find yourself in the crosshairs of the electors.
Where were these "peaceful" democrats when threats were made against Republicans?? Answer: they were claiming protecting of such threats as freedom of speech.
Payback's a.....well, you know.
These people turn hypocrisy into an art form, which every day they take to a new level.
Meanwhile, if memory serves me, it was there guy (and a fine guy, he was) who said "if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen."
Well, we'll kick them out of the kitchen soon enough.
Congress' attack on The Constitution is more dangerous to the USA than the Iraqi military or Muslim Terrorists are.
So what is the Congressman's point?
