Tiger Woods' return to Augusta National was pleasant if not entirely triumphant. Maybe that part comes later.If he keeps this up everybody else is in big trouble.
Woods endured putting inconsistencies and shot a 4-under-par 68, the best first-round score he's ever posted at the Masters. That put him in a tie for seventh place, two strokes behind leader Fred Couples.
Woods eagled No. 15 to get to 4-under par and then parred the final three holes, although he had an 8-foot chance for birdie at 18. He also missed a makeable eagle putt at 13. He did eagle No. 8.
Woods had three bogeys for the day. He generally kept his composure through the ups and downs, and regularly made eye contact with galleries that were boisterously supportive.
