USS Murtha

Former Rep. John Murtha became a very vocal critic of the war in Iraq during his later days, actively promoted a policy of surrender and withdrawal, and also made what turned out to be completely false accusations against U.S. Marines in an incident at Haditha, Iraq.  Even when proved wrong on each issue Murtha never apologized and took his shame to his grave.

Now the Navy wants to name a ship after him:
The Navy's decision to name a ship for the late Rep. John Murtha has outraged some critics who have not forgiven the Pennsylvania Democrat for accusing U.S. Marines of murdering Iraqi civilians "in cold blood" five years ago.

The Navy is naming its newest San Antonio-class amphibious transport-dock LPD 26 for Murtha, the powerful chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee who became an outspoken and influential critic of the Iraq war.

Murtha died in February at age 77 after complications from gallbladder surgery.
It'll be the only amphibious transport ship in the Navy that has an international airport with only two flights a day to Washington D.C.

Just goes to show the class of people who are presently in Congress representing We The People. November elections are coming soon and hopefully a lot of heads will be rolling.
