I did a little train chasing this morning and got shots of steam locomotive Santa Fe 3751 as it headed south to San Diego. My first stop was in Norwalk where the train came blasting through at 50 mph. I then made a dash down to Tustin and just barely beat the train to the station. After managing to get lost looking for the Metrolink station I rolled in there just about a minute ahead of the train.
Thankfully I knew pretty much were the train was thanks to their Twitter feed which was giving periodic updates on their progress south. Just as I was arriving in Tustin I got the message that they had passed Santa Ana so I knew I hadn't missed them.
Here some video I shot today:
I'm going to try and catch them tomorrow on the way back north as they climb the big hill near my house. They won't be going quite so fast and she'll be working really hard.
