Dem Slams Candidate Richard Blumenthal as "Coward" and "Liar"

Time to sit back and let the Dems blow each other up.  Presumed Dem Senate candidate and almost sure winner Richard Blumenthal lied about serving in Vietnam.  Not once, but on many occasions.  He even talked about how he remembered what it was like to return from Vietnam:

"I remember the taunts, the insults, sometimes even physical abuse,"

He may remember it, but he didn't experience it.  He spent some months in the Marine Reserve helping with Toys for Tots campaigns, not fighting the commies in 'Nam.  This will be nearly impossible to spin into "misspeaking" or whatever other term is used for lying these days.

He has a primary challenger who was so far behind as to be invisible, but today he's ripping the lying Blumenthal a new one:

"As a citizen and as candidate, it's shocking to see someone who has tried to craft this image of themselves as a fighter, as someone who is willing to always step up and tell the truth, to see him lie about serving in Vietnam,'' Alpert said during a brief phone conversation tonight.

"He was a coward to go and get five deferments and he's clearly a liar for standing up for his own political benefit years later...It's disgraceful behavior from someone who is clearly not qualified to serve in the U.S. Senate."

Let's see how the voters in Connecticut respond. They're used to having lying Senators like Chris Dodd so this may not bother them at all.
