When Will Obama Go to Nashville?

I've been somewhat aware of the problems going on in Nashville thanks to messages on Facebook and some news reporting, but wasn't aware just how big a mess they've got down there.  It's probably the largest non-hurricane disaster in America, and yet there's almost no media attention and certainly Obama hasn't flown in to do the same type of appearances he did for the Gulf oil spill.

Why not?  It might be because the people of Nashville are handling their own problems and not begging for federal help.  This video will give you an idea of what's going on in Music City:

A great many tourist attractions, such as the Opryland Hotel and The Grand Old Opry may be closed for months for the clean-up. The Nashville economy is going to take a big hit, but they're not the kind of people to just sit back and wait for the world to come to their rescue. They'll fix it.

And let me offer another reason why Obama is not making a high profile trip to Nashville to wave the administration's flag: There's nothing going on in Nashville that can be used to advance one of Obama's socialist goals.  With the Gulf oil spill he can stop offshore drilling and possibly even come up with reasons to push his climate and energy policies.  The flooding in Nashville is pure "Act of God" stuff and no amount of federal programs could have stopped it.  If it doesn't advance his agenda, he's not interested.

It's hard to believe, isn't it? I wake up and wonder what country I'm living in.
