Higher Tax Rates Equal Lower Tax Revenues

It works that way pretty much all the time:

Orange County taxable sales dropped 20% in the second quarter of 2009, even though the state increased the sales tax rate 1 percentage point April 1 when the quarter began.

That's a lesson the Democrats just don't seem to be able to learn. Want in increase tax revenue? Drop tax rates to spur more economic activity.  It worked when JFK did it.  It worked when Reagan did it.  It worked when Bush did it.
