Councilman Jon Dumitru said illegal immigration in Orange has contributed to the city's budget deficit, which is why he introduced two resolutions supporting Arizona's controversial immigration-reform bill.Lefty heads are exploding and charges of racism are flying, but Orange is doing the right thing. Too bad more Orange County cities, including my own, can't figure that out.
If both pass Tuesday, Orange would officially support Arizona's efforts to curb illegal immigration, and declare itself a Rule of Law city.
Orange would be the first Orange County city to do both.
"Some of the budget deficit is because of illegal immigration," Dumitru said. "The impacts on public safety (dealing) with illegal immigration bear a cost on the city. It impacts out budget left and right."

Will they whitewash the school murals in Orange County?
A group of artists has been asked to lighten the faces of children depicted in a giant public mural at a Prescott school. The project’s leader says he was ordered to lighten the skin tone after complaints about the children’s ethnicity ….
R.E. Wall, director of Prescott’s Downtown Mural Project, said he and other artists were subjected to slurs from motorists as they worked on the painting at one of the town’s most prominent intersections.
“We consistently, for two months, had people shouting racial slander from their cars,” Wall said. “We had children painting with us, and here come these yells of (epithet for Blacks) and (epithet for Hispanics).”

I lived in Orange, CA during the 1970's-1980's and we had a terrible problem with Illegal Aliens who committed one crime after another. They were specialists in stealing things out of your garage if you left the garage door open and went into your house or back yard. There were neighborhoods just a few blocks away which had a huge influx or Illegals staying with
other families. It was finally good to move out of that area.
I was on the 55 South freeway today, and saw a make-shift sign on an overpass that made a comment about "illegal aliens" with an arrow pointing to a picture of a pilgrim.
If non-citizens think they will win us over with insults, they might want to think again.
I grow weary of their ungratefulness.

I couldn't agree more with your posting. Maybe it's a good thing, they just drive us further and further away from doing anything which would help them or be constructive. Their actions are sort of like pouring salt in an open wound.
