Gray Day at the Beach

We decided to go down to San Clemente Beach this morning to check out the high surf that's supposed to pound the beaches this weekend.  I don't think the big stuff has gotten here yet, but when it does it will be greeted by wall-to-wall beachgoers.  I snapped a couple of shots of the various tents and other set-ups along the water.

Some folks had spent the night there and apparently planning to stay until the 9pm fireworks show which will be shot off the pier you see in the background.  There was a thick overcast, cold wind and a little bit of drizzle as we took our walk this morning.  Kind of uncomfortable if you have nowhere else to go.

It should warm up a bit later, and as long as the big swells don't wash away the tents, this folks should be well positioned for the fireworks tonight.
