The War on Happy Meals Moves to San Francisco

Of course it does:
A serious move is afoot to force fast-food giants to make kids meals more nutritionally viable if they want to sell them with kid-luring toys.

In San Francisco, newly proposed legislation would ban toys from most kids meals sold at McDonald's, Burger King and other chains unless the meals meet more stringent calorie and sodium limits. The legislation also would require fruit or veggies in each meal.
I know it would cost them millions, but I would love for these fast food outlets to tell the cities that if they pass these laws they'll shut all their stores down and lay everybody off. When people could no longer get inexpensive food they like in their cities they might just decide to get some new politicians.

Excellent point Rick, have to agree with you on this.

Hard to shut down franchisees--they have contracts.

Still, an interesting idea.
