Tensions Rise as Mideast Talks Begin...This is one of those "if I were President" moments. I wouldn't waste my time getting these people together because it's a meaningless exercise. The goals set by each side are simply incompatible. Israel will not give up Jerusalem and the Palestinians will not give up their goal of driving every last Jew into the sea. Frankly, the only way Israel will ever have peace is if they move the Palestinians somewhere far away...but no other country wants them. They're professional troublemakers. The only hope Israel has of semi-peaceful coexistence with the Palestinians is to maintain some very high walls between them and the Palestinian communities.

Given the "world" opinion of Israel, perhaps they'd be better off behaving as "world" opinion accuses them of behaving.
If they'd blow up a couple square miles of Gaza (Hamas) and West Bank (PLO), the Hs and Ps would think maybe their own actions were counter-productive. After all, they've been accused of doing that when they haven't, so why not give the Hs and Ps a taste of the real medicine they could dispense.
