How Desperate is Jerry Brown? Gloria Allred Desperate

You know your campaign is in trouble when you have to trot out the angry feminist lawyer to attack your opponent:

Attorney Gloria Allred has called an 11 a.m press conference in Los Angeles with her newest client, a former housekeeper for Republican nominee Meg Whitman.

"Ms. Whitman’s former employee will be making what are sure to be controversial and explosive allegations about her former employer," reads a statement from Allred's office.

Allred claims the former housekeeper will "tell how she suffered as a longtime Latina household employee in Meg Whitman’s home and why she is filing a claim against Ms. Whitman."

Allred is a sideshow performer these days and her clients are automatically suspect. The last time she held a press conference she was representing one of Tiger Woods' former floozies.

And coming this far ahead of the election not only speaks of desperation but means this is probably a nothing story that won't have any significant effect on the race.

UPDATE:  Allred's presser is a disaster...for Allred.  Any damage to Whitman will be small and very temporary.  If the voters decided to blame this fiasco on Brown it could even end up helping Whitman.
