Political Ad of the Day

John Dennis is running against Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco. Given the wacky liberal nature of his district it's safe to say he has a long-shot race at best.

But let's not forget that in 1994 Speaker Tom Foley was defeated in the election, so perhaps even Pelosi isn't safe.

Dennis has a clever ad running that, if anything, will get him some media attention:




In a related story, Newt Gingrich thinks if Pelosi survives the election she'll probably resign anyway should she lose the Speaker's chair:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) predicted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will retire after the midterm elections when John Boehner takes over as Speaker and that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will lose re-election.

Neither would surprise me. It's hard to image Pelosi going back to some sort of minority leadership role in the House.
