Political Quote of the Day

From conservative bomb-thrower Ann Coulter:

All liberals are atheists. Only the ones who have to stand for election even bother pretending to believe in God.

Since I know a few liberals who are also dedicated Christians I can't go along with Coulter's blanket statement. But certainly in Washington there seems to be a collection of liberals who enjoy draping themselves in their faith (often Catholic but I can think of one Mormon too) and yet openly oppose their own church's views on things like abortion. I do believe those people are religious by convenience and not by any serious commitment to the faith.
