Bad Day to Be a California Doper

I'm only writing this because every time I criticized Prop 19, the measure to legalize marijuana in California, some pothead would write me a nasty note.  They're quite entertaining, like this one that showed up on Twitter last night:

Boy, there's a compelling argument.

Prop 19 was handily defeated 54%-46% in what was just about the only display of sanity shown in the entire state election last night. And who should we thank for that? How about Eric Holder and the U.S. Justice Department.

When it appeared a few weeks ago that Prop 19 might pass Holder made a very public statement that the Federal government would finally begin enforcing the pot laws they had been ignoring since Obama took office. That seemed to have some effect as it reminded people that no matter how the state voted, pot was still going to be a federal crime.

So, just as Obama voters flooding the polling places in 2008 helped kill gay marriage in California, an Obama employee has helped kill legal pot.

Every now and then Obama gets something right.

By the way, three medical marijuana measures in Arizona, South Dakota, and Oregon were also defeated.
