Here We Go Again With the Ron Paul Nuts

As we were leaving South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA yesterday we crossed the freeway overpass where a long-haired grungy-looking guy was standing waving an American flag and wearing one of those rubber Statue of Liberty green pointy visors.  He had taped signs to the overpass that could be seen from the freeway.  We couldn't read them until we circled the cloverleaf on-ramp and as the signs came into view I just had to laugh:
Ron Paul! Hope for America
Geez. Here we go again with the another quixotic campaign by the Paulistinians.

People, all your love and devotion for Ron Paul and whatever ideas of his you think America can't live without, he hasn't a prayer of becoming president. Not a prayer. Efforts to promote another Ron Paul candidacy are completely wasted. On Election Day in 2012 he'll be 77 years old, but he'll be out of the race long before that.

He can't win the GOP nomination and an independent candidacy, if he's determined to try that again, will only suck money, energy and time away from a candidate who can actually beat Obama.

I realize I'm wasting my breath here because the true Paulians will not be dissuaded by logic.  Not while Ron Paul lives...

If Ron Paul runs as an Independent, it will also draw some Democrat votes, but mostly it is a waste of time for all involved.

Paul isn't popular enough to do much damage, especially if the GOP runs an actual Conservative candidate (if they can find one).
