Rohnert Park Police Catch the Scent of a Felon

I watched a little bit of this unfold yesterday.  As we were headed back to my daughter's apartment we saw part of this slow speed chase as it began near the Black Bear Restaurant where we had lunch, and again a few minutes later as it headed down a residential street in Rohnert Park.  It was kind of comical to watch as it went by, the woman appearing to be on her cellphone with two police cars in tow and another one quickly catching up to the chase.  It apparently went on for quite awhile longer (from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat):
A Santa Rosa woman who allegedly stole $200 worth of perfume from the Grocery Outlet in Rohnert Park was arrested Saturday after evading police officers for almost half an hour in a car pursuit to Santa Rosa, officials said.

A Grocery Outlet employee allegedly saw Jackquline Dedrick, 42, leave the store with the merchandise at 12:19 p.m. The employee gave a description of the suspect and her vehicle to a Rohnert Park Public Safety dispatcher.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they saw Dedrick's vehicle leaving the area. A patrol car attempted to make a traffic stop, but Dedrick did not stop her car, police said.

Police said Dedrick then led them on a low-speed chase through Rohnert Park streets. At one point, Rohnert Park police attempted to stop her using a spike-strip, but Dedrick avoided the strip by swerving up the curb and onto the sidewalk, police said.

Dedrick was followed to Santa Rosa via Petaluma Hill Road. She was finally stopped on Santa Rosa Avenue, near Juilliard Park, after she tried to make a U-turn but was boxed in by pursuing patrol cars, police said.

After Dedrick refused to unlock the doors to her vehicle, a police officer broke out the front passenger window and unlocked the car, police said. She was then taken into custody without further incident.

Dedrick was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail for burglary, evading arrest and outstanding felony warrants.
Kind of made me feel like I was back home.
