36 Days That Decided the Presidency
Ten years ago today the nightmare that was the Florida recount was about to come to an end with Al Gore's concession on December 13th, 2000. Fox News takes a look back at those 36 days following the election in a special that's on tonight at 9pm EST/6pm PST. Just a caution - if you remember that period like I do you better have your blood pressure medication handy because remembering the outrages Al Gore tried to pull will sure get your anger up.

"For the sake of our unity as a people and the strength of our democracy, I offer my concession." - Al Gore ONLY ONE day after the Supreme Court ruled to end the recounts.
I'm not sure why the emphasis on ONLY ONE day after the Supreme Court ruling. Gore's fight went for 36 days and made two trips to the Supreme Court before he finally had to give up after running out of viable options. Even then insiders say he didn't want to quit. There was nothing gracious about Al Gore's concession other than the wording.
