Banning Walking and Talking

After targeting distracted drivers, some New York lawmakers want to go after distracted walkers. They are looking to ban them from using iPods, music players and cell phones while walking and crossing the street.

Yes, people sometimes do dumb things when messing with their personal electronics while walking, such as walking into a mall fountain or in front of a train. But a new law isn't going to change any of that.

Do these lawmakers think the cops have nothing else to do?
