Bracing for a half-billion-dollar onslaught of outside GOP cash in 2012, President Barack Obama’s advisers are quietly working to bring back together the major donor base that produced a record-breaking fundraising haul in his first run for president....I just have a hard time believing that he'll be able to raise the kind of dollars he raised in 2008 because the hope, change, rainbows and unicorns are going. People now know what he is and how inept he is as president.
“They are getting organized in Chicago to start a massive two-year campaign, which I believe will be successful, but has extraordinarily large challenges in some of the major states,” said Philadelphia philanthropist Peter Buttenweiser, who hosted one of the first Obama presidential fundraisers in 2007 and is in talks to organize an early one for the re-election.
Obama’s team is running into resistance in at least one key fundraising hub — New York City, where some of Obama’s biggest 2008 backers have bitterly protested last year’s passage of financial reform legislation and what they perceived as an unfair bad-mouthing of bankers during the debate.
Obama was scheduled to go to New York this week to meet with about 25 large bundlers and supporters – and maybe clear the air – but that event was canceled after the Tucson shootings at the congressional event of Rep.Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), according to one prominent New York fundraiser.
Granted, there are a lot of big money loony lefties who will still contribute the maximum they can out of fear of the GOP, but I think there will be a noticeable drop-off in the small donations that made up so much of his 2008 fundraising.

Obama is a smart "tricky" preacher.. HE knows all ways to TWIST & TURNS situations around.. for this.. HE's an intelligent president, lol..HE also IS a mullionaire himself.. making good use of HIS $$$ in purchasing all the guaranteed profit stocks.. Therefore.. HE can make it out of his own pocket EVEN IF no miny minor donations is there for him, lol.. HE CAN affords it HIMSELF, lol..
Perhaps the press will enforce the credit card security for the next election so as to prevent overseas contributions. Even with all the money, it would seem difficult for Pres Obama to repeat due simply to a dismal record tied about his neck.
It will be easier for him to raise the cash because he has no restrictions on foreign money or over-the-limit contributions. Such donations weren't investigated last time and who thinks the current Justice Department will take an interest this time?
