Snow at Magic Mountain, Grapevine Closed

Boy, I'm glad I wasn't trying to get to or from Northern California this weekend:
More rain, gusty winds and snow were reported across Southern California Sunday afternoon, as a new storm moves into the already soggy region.

The California Highway Patrol closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Grapevine around 1 p.m. Sunday. Officials said snow, propelled by 90 mph winds, made driving conditions too dangerous.

Northbound traffic is being diverted at Parker Road in Castaic. On the southbound side, traffic is being stopped at the L.A.-Kern county line.

The CHP had been escorting cars through the Grapevine earlier Sunday, but officials decided to close the road completely because cars were starting to slide.
A friend posted pictures of his wife and daughter playing in the snow in Stevenson Ranch, an LA suburb about 35 miles north of downtown and near Magic Mountain, the Six Flags theme park in Santa Clarita. They had snow there too.

Darned global warming...
