Tribute to a Local Hero
Spc. Jose A Torres Jr. was killed in action in Iraq on January 15th. He was a graduate of Pacifica High School. Laura's Miscellaneous Musings has a moving story of how the school and community honored Torres as his body was returned home.

Thank you so much for posting this link. It's rare that we have the opportunity to personally participate in honoring a fallen soldier and letting the family know of our gratitude. It was a deeply moving experience. I believe it probably had quite an impact on the student body, underscoring the cost of freedom.
