For This They Could Have Stayed in Green Bay or Pittsburgh

So much for moving the Super Bowl to "warm weather" cities:
Dallas-Fort Worth on Saturday woke to another sub-freezing morning, with wind chills dipping into the single digits and forecasters calling for a possible wintry mix on Super Bowl Sunday.

Major roads appeared mostly clear this morning as drivers heeded warnings that the region’s many bridges and ramps might be treacherous. Texas Department of Transportation traffic cameras around the region showed vehicles moving cautiously on highway surfaces that had refrozen overnight.

Earlier in the week, forecasters called for sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s for Super Bowl Sunday. Those predictions gave hope to NFL and local officials that the area would thaw in time for kickoff.

But circumstances appear to have changed. The latest National Weather Service forecast, posted at 7 a.m. today, calls for patches of freezing fog to develop on Sunday morning. Later on, the chance for rain or snow will develop.
The Green Bay and Pittsburgh people will know how to drive in this stuff. It's the Dallas people that will have problems.
