This is kind of odd, but it's not unusual for newspapers to write obituaries well in advance of a famous person's passing. If the person is old or in poor health, they'll get the obits written and filed so they can quickly be released.
This morning when the news of Taylor's passing hit the wires I noted that local TV station KTLA had a memorial piece on the air within five minutes. They clearly had been expecting this for awhile.
Well, the New York Times had been planning for Taylor's passing for so long that the person who wrote her obituary died six years before Taylor did. Gateway Pundit has the details.
