UCLA Anti-Asian YouTube Rant Story Misses An Important Point

This story is getting a lot of local TV play:
A UCLA student whose viral "Asians in the Library" YouTube video sparked a campus backlash and condemnation from the school's chancellor has received multiple death threats, the Daily Bruin reported.

Alexandra Wallace issued a statement to the campus newspaper on Monday, issuing an apology to the "entire UCLA campus."

"Clearly the original video posted by me was inappropriate," she said in the statement. "I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did, and if I could undo it, I would."

In the the video, she suggests that Asians don't have manners and she also mocks students using a derogatory, fake Asian accent.
You can watch the original video at the link in the story above.

But what's missing in this story?

Nobody has bothered to address whether the ranting Miss Wallace had a valid complaint.  All the focus is on how she chose to express it, which obviously offended a lot of people, but I don't hear anyone even attempting to address her underlying complaint.  It's as though the way she chose to express it automatically excuses rude behavior by other students.

Frankly, I wish she'd come out with a statement something like this:
I'm sorry I chose an unartful way to express my frustration at the rude behavior I witnessed from several students in the library where I was trying to study.  I'm sorry people were offended by my characterization of those people, but it doesn't excuse their rude disturbances.  Bottom line, if you're going to be in the library, get off the phone.
That would have made a few heads explode, but she would have been much more true to her feelings of frustration at the disturbance.

In addition to condemnation from the school's chancellor for the anti-Asian nature of her rant, it would have been totally appropriate for him to comment on the bad behavior on the part of the people in the library as well.

I am an Asian but I think the girl raised valid points. Asians should also know own problems but at the
same time white students should be
aware that they are harboring racial prejudice too. That girl should not be dispelled from UC.

Seriously? You think no one raise concern about her complaints? Are you not looking hard enough? I see numerous people come forth and said that yes, those behaviours in library are rude and inappropriate, and no, those behaviour are not confined to Asian students.

The fact that she took something that every single race does, and turn it into a rage against Asian students demonstrates her racism.
