150 Years Ago The First Shots of the Civil War Were Fired

At 4:30 this morning we hit the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, the time when the Confederates launched their first volleys at Fort Sumter.  The war would go on for four years and cost the lives of over 600,000 Americans from both sides.

And even today there are those who think the events today resemble the events of 1861:
Gov. Jerry Brown: Country Hasn't Been This Divided Since Civil War!
Probably a bit hyperbolic, though there are a couple of states that have had secession movements.  So far nobody's opened fire.
