American Express: Serving Abortion Providers Since...Well, Before You Weren't Born

Somebody at American Express will have some explaining to do.  This tweet was posted by the official American Express site this afternoon as reported by Jim Treacher:

How about that. RT @AmericanExpress Scarlett Johansson supports Planned Parenthood, and so should you!

Somebody grabbed a screenshot of the tweet before Amex deleted it.

Of course, much hilarity has followed from Jim Treacher:

It's weird that @AmericanExpress supports abortion. "Member Since... well, never, actually."

This is gonna go on for awhile.

UPDATE:  Amex is claiming they were hacked.  That's certainly the most logical explanation, but I'll be interested to know who did the hacking and why they chose to support Planned Parenthood.  My guess it's much more likely a rogue Amex employee rather than a hacker.
