Gimme a "C"! Gimme an "H"! Gimme an "E"! Gimme an "A"! Gimme at "T"!

What's that spell?  CHEAT!:
The Cal State Long Beach Cheer Team was forced to forfeit a national title last week when it was discovered that non-CSULB students were participating on the team.

Coach Eric Anderson has been fired as a result, according to a statement from CSULB's Associated Students Inc., which funds the Cheer Team. Anderson was cheer coach at Century High School in Santa Ana before joining CSULB in 2001. In 2000, he was named California Coach of the Year, according to the Cheer Team's webpage.

CSULB won the National Cheerleaders Association Small Coed Division I championship title April 9-10 at the NCA Collegiate Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla.

"It has come to the attention of the Associated Students Inc. and the university that ineligible members participated in the competition as official members of the team," the organization said in the statement. "After a conversation with the NCA, it was determined that since non-CSULB students performed in the competition, it would be unethical and against CSULB Campus Regulation, ASI standards and NCA rules to retain the title."

ASI is now searching for a new Cheer Team coach.
We expect it from USC, but not from Cal State Long Beach.

I have to guess that's a big deal there. All I can say is "Huh?" Is there, like, money in that?
