As Congress struggles to negotiate a budget deal to keep the government running, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) told lawmakers Wednesday that the GOP version of the budget bill would result in the deaths of at least 70,000 children who depend on American food and health assistance around the world.Could we not save at least that many kids by simply cutting off the funding to Planned Parenthood?
“We estimate, and I believe these are very conservative estimates, that H.R. 1 would lead to 70,000 kids dying,” USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah testified before the House Appropriations State and Foreign Ops subcommittee.
“Of that 70,000, 30,000 would come from malaria control programs that would have to be scaled back specifically. The other 40,000 is broken out as 24,000 would die because of a lack of support for immunizations and other investments and 16,000 would be because of a lack of skilled attendants at birth,” he said.

Obama Official: Minuscule Budget Cuts Will Kill 70,000 Kids
Apparently there isn't a single dollar that can be cut from the $3.65 trillion budget, which is over $1 trillion more than the government will take in, without killing people right and left:

Let me get this straight; we're being blackmailed with the deaths of thousands of innocent children unless the U.S. taxpayers fork over millions of dollars in order to save liberals from the humiliation of having to admit that banning DDT was a scam all along. Got it.
I vote for approving DDT and making liberals eat crow -it's for the children, right?
Not to be callous, but these are not even American deaths we are talking about here. We need to put our own house in order first, or more than 70K will be dying - and not all of them will be foreign.
