Hundreds of California Teachers Steal Lesson Plans From Wisconsin

Not very original:
Hundreds of California teachers descended on Sacramento today for a week-long occupation of the state Capitol to demand that lawmakers extend a tax hike to avoid further cuts to education.

Wearing light blue T-shirts with “WE ARE ONE” emblazoned on the back, members of the powerful California Teachers Association kicked off their “State of Emergency” week of protest with a 45-minute press conference and interfaith prayer service outside of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament just two blocks from the State Capitol.

The mood was resilient as speaker after speaker said lawmakers must extend higher taxes to avoid an all-cuts solution to the state budget, and that the rich and corporations need to be taxed more.
Uh...no. Now go back to work.

How am I not surprised. . .

Seems to be at my place of work my colleagues speak the "party line" whenever and wherever I see them. . . even if I have no interest in discussing their version of what they think is the solution.

Sure enough, yesterday I got the line that capitalism is wrong and must be destroyed, as well as their monolithic belief in the voters approving statewide tax hikes come November (gag me).

The language used is becoming more vehement in the workplace, as the budget cuts take full effect, with fear and anxiety about their livelihood behind it all. No room for discussion of more than one side of the debate. No debate allowed anymore.

When I mention that our grandparents got through the Great Depression, and we will too, or that even with all the perceived ills of capitalism, those from North Korea and Cuba would give their eyeteeth to be here in the United States, they fall silent. Then they continue their one party narrative once again, oblivious to anything I have said.

To show the level of insanity out there among these coworkers, one even said - without provocation - that the solution was to take $40,000 (where from, who knows) and gamble it in Las Vegas to get more. Yet the guy doesn't have $40,000 to begin with! You get the picture. . .

They haven't ever heard of the saying from Proverbs: "Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow." (Proverbs 13:11) No desire for patience or diligence in being disciplined in accumulating wealth. . . gotta have it now, they think.

Surely we are living as the Israelites did in the time of the Judges: "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit." (Judges 21:25) And I weep.

The photos speak volumes. The slogans you see in them are all repeated daily in the sites I visit for my work. You connect the dots. . .
