Last year the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor was awarded to Tina Fey, supposedly for a "lifetime" of work, but in reality it was pretty much about her impersonation of Sarah Palin. This year's award was just announced and will go to Will Ferrell, well known for his George W. Bush impersonations (remember "strategery"?) and a lot of forgettable movies. There seems to be a pattern here.
Next year's award is likely to go to whoever does the best impression of the 2012 GOP nominee...whoever that turns out to be.
