May 3rd, 1999

It was on this day in 1999 that a historic F5 tornado hit Oklahoma doing incredible damage in a number of towns before heading into densely packed Moore, OK and carving a mile-wide swatch of destruction.  Sixty-six tornadoes were generated in Oklahoma and Kansas that day and 36 people died in this one tornado.  Here's some chase footage shot by TornadoVideos.net in one of their first storm chases.  NOTE:  Do not try and hide from tornadoes in underpasses - that proved fatal to some people that day.
