Disneyland previewed a new, 3-D version of its popular “Star Tours” attraction to 2,000 lucky fans Friday. There's a video report at the link.
The new 3-D ride is based on the “Star Wars” films and will take guests to multiple destinations from the movies as they interact with the famous characters.
‘Star Tours – The Adventures Continue’ will open to the public on June 3, but CBS2’s Kirk Hawkins got a sneak peak Friday morning. The attraction previously opened May 20 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Lake Buena Vista, Fl.
The original ‘Star Tours’ debuted at Disneyland in 1989 and was closed last year so Imagineers could work on a new attraction.
The new ride features over 50 variations so guests have the potential to experience a new different attraction every time.

New Star Tours Ride in Previews
Disneyland is getting ready to open the newly revamped 3-D Star Tours ride in Tomorrowland. My son is not terribly enthused at the prospect of elements from the later installments of Star Wars being incorporated into this ride. He's a Star Wars purist and the old ride was his favorite in the park.
