Even the commander-in-chief takes a back seat to bad weather. Wednesday, just as Air Force One was approaching Hartford’s Bradley International Airport to land, the pilot executed a missed approach and circled around.A "missed approach" is common in bad weather and occurs when the plane descends to what is known as the "decision height" but still can't see the runway. The plane is required to execute the missed approach and come around for another attempt.
Federal Aviation Authority spokeswoman Laura Brown tells CNN, "The plane had not yet reached the runway and the weather was 'bad' so the pilot circled around and lined up for another landing."
and it's pretty common in the Obama presidency. Obamacare was a situation in which a missed approach would have been preferable, but instead of realizing the storm being generated by voters was severe the Democrats went ahead and tried to land...and crashed.
