Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event. Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key. There is a list of churches participating in this event - mostly Episcopal, Unitarian, Congregational, or other denominations that lost their way some time ago (or never found it) - but what's interesting is I don't see a single Islamic Mosque planning to participate. Apparently, reading the Qur'an in a "Christian" church is acceptable, but reading a Bible in a mosque is not. Funny how tolerance always seems to be a one-way street and the nothing is ever expected from the intolerant.
These people are foolish.
