New York State Legalizes Gay Marriage

Oh well.  It was bound to happen.  The forces of political correctness will eventually win out where weak Republicans dwell.

Although I may not agree with the legislators in New York, if you're a lover of the Constitution as I am, you have to acknowledge that this whole thing happened the way it was intended.  The federal government does not have authority over marriage, so as the 10th Amendment requires, it's up to the states to decide for themselves.  New York has chosen poorly, but the 10th Amendment does not guarantee wise choices.  It only guarantees that the people of a particular state, through their representatives, get to choose for themselves.  It sure beats having the voters make their choice and then having one judge invalidate it, as has happened in California.

Although I might make a different choice, I wouldn't have the process work any other way.
