End of an Era - The Final Space Shuttle Launch

Those of us who grew up remembering the first days of the manned space program will be a little sad this morning as we may be seeing for the very last time an American launched into space on an American vehicle. The weather has been a little iffy in Florida, but it looks like the flight will go as scheduled.  From Breaking News:
NASA weather and space shuttle launch team say final shuttle launch is a go; lift off will be at 11:26:46 a.m. ET - NBC
Gotta watch - you may not live long enough to see something like this again.

Apparently, Obama is supposed to speak this morning and as usual his appearance is delayed.  Given the importance of this final space shot, let's hope he's brief or at least the networks are sharp enough to break away for the launch.  If you have cable or satellite, you can watch via the NASA channel (289 on DirectTV) and not be interrupted by an unwanted POTUS.

UPDATE: Atlantis is away safely and just about to end the powered phase of its last flight. Never again will that roar be heard in Florida or anywhere else.
